Fremont Motors drives the future of automotive education at CWC
For immediate release
Central Wyoming College (CWC) is proud to acknowledge Fremont Motors for the donation of a hybrid vehicle to its Automotive Technology Program. As the industry shifts toward electric and hybrid vehicles, this donation helps ensure that CWC students stay ahead of the curve.
“We are incredibly grateful to Fremont Motors for their generous donation of a hybrid vehicle to the Automotive program. This contribution not only enhances educational opportunities but also empowers our students with hands-on experience in evolving automotive technology,” said Brittany Yeates, CWC Dean of Business & Industry. “Thank you, Fremont Motors, for investing in education, training, and—most importantly—our students.”
With the growing demand for electric and hybrid vehicles, training the next generation of automotive technicians in these systems is crucial. Traditional gasoline-powered engines differ significantly from electric drivetrains, requiring specialized knowledge in battery systems, high-voltage safety, software diagnostics, and hybrid maintenance. Thanks to Fremont Motors, CWC students now have direct access to an EV for real-world training, bridging the gap between classroom learning and industry needs.
“Central Wyoming College would like to thank Fremont Motors for their donation of a hybrid car to the Auto program,” says John Aschenbrenner, Instructor of Automotive Technology. “This contribution allows us to provide students with the skills they need to service the next generation of vehicles.”
This donation was made possible by Ranee Clyde, Service Manager at Fremont Motors in Riverton. Ranee serves on one of CWC’s advisory committees. Recognizing the need for EV and hybrid training, she helped facilitate this partnership. General Manager Jeremy Mejorado personally delivered the vehicle, reinforcing Fremont Motors’ commitment to education and workforce development.
CWC’s Automotive Technology Program offers students a state-of-the-art learning environment, featuring industry-leading tools, an all-wheel-drive dynamometer, advanced diagnostic equipment, and courses covering all eight ASE certification areas. By integrating electric vehicle training into its curriculum, they are preparing students for in-demand careers, ensuring they are ready to meet the challenges of modern automotive technology.
On behalf of our faculty, students, and the entire CWC community—thank you, Fremont Motors, for driving innovation and investing in the future of automotive education!
